We have been breeding and exhibiting Polands for the last 15 years. We are fortunate to follow on from our experience gained with our friend Mr Eric Parker, we worked closely with him over the last few years giving a total experience of over fifty years.
We breed almost every colour available both in large and bantam to include frizzle feather in both sizes, the varieties are as follows.
White Crested Black.
White Crested Blue.
White Crested Cuckoo.
Self White.
Self Black.
Self Blue.
Self Cuckoo.
Laced Buff (chamois).
Laced Gold.
Laced Silver.
All the above are covered by the poultry club standard.
Non standards include Creole, Non Bearded White (large & bantam), Blue Gold, Blue Silver, Black Crested White,Tolbunt and Partridge.
Other colours are to follow later this year.
Although some of these colours are not recognised in the UK they are in Europe. We now have several bloodlines, some of which have been imported from Switzerland, Holland and Germany this is all being done to bring home the dream of the ultimate aim of the perfect Poland.
We are secretaries of the British Poland Club with a present membership of around 60, including members from Australia and Holland, we are also heavily involved in the International Poland Club (INPC) which is represented world wide.
We also breed and exhibit other breeds although on a smaller scale these include Houdans which are classed as a rare breed, very similar to the Poland but with a smaller (not as neat) crest and 5 toes. Also we keep Light Sussex Large, Japanese White Tailed & Black (plain & frizzle), S & LF Black Japanese.
